Dogs make themselves at home in the things we make. That’s why Tina Nguyen, our founder, thinks carefully about the materials, comfort, and construction of every Jax & Bones product, choosing what she’d feel good giving to her own pets.

Since 2004, we’ve created toys, bedding, and accessories with everyday life with dogs in mind. Our roots in furniture and upholstery, through our sister company Upholstery West, bring a deep appreciation for textiles, cushions, and craftsmanship to that work.

QUALITY MATERIALS YOU CAN TRUST

Our fabrics are selected not only for their beauty and durability, but also for their performance in everyday life with pets. Fabrics and components may be evaluated for color stability, durability, and safety to help ensure they maintain their appearance and function through regular use.

INDEPENDENT THIRD-PARTY TESTING

Jax & Bones works with independent third-party testing laboratories, including CTI, a globally recognized inspection, testing, and certification organization. Depending on the product category, testing may include evaluations for lead, phthalates, restricted substances, colorfastness, and other safety and quality standards. These evaluations help us assess materials and products against applicable requirements.

BEDDING MADE WITH CARE

For our beds, we consider how fabrics, cushions, and construction will feel and perform in everyday life with pets. Our upholstery background informs the details we pay attention to, from material selection to the finishing of each bed.

COLOR & DYE SAFETY

We evaluate fabrics and materials to help ensure colors remain vibrant and stable during normal use. Materials may be tested for colorfastness and color transfer to help reduce the risk of staining furniture, bedding, carpets, or other household surfaces.

As part of our commitment to product quality, we also monitor for restricted dyes and other potentially harmful substances where applicable.

DURABILITY & STRENGTH TESTING

Many products undergo durability evaluations to assess how they perform during normal use. Testing may include seam strength, material performance, and other assessments designed to help ensure products meet our quality standards.

REAL DOG TESTING

Before introducing many products to market, we observe real dogs interacting with our toys and accessories to evaluate engagement, usability, and overall product performance. These observations provide valuable insight into how our products perform in real-life environments.

A NOTE FOR PET PARENTS

While we design our products with durability in mind, no pet toy is indestructible. We recommend supervising your pet during play and regularly inspecting products for signs of wear or damage. If a product becomes damaged, discontinue use and replace it as appropriate.
